Happy May, Happy Mother's Day and Happy Memorial Day!
Oh my, we are all ready in the second week of May! Thank you to all that came during the Wildflowers All Around Shop Hop last month! During the three days we had 484 customers, it was a bit crazy, yet fun! We have been adding new fabrics and sewing notions into inventory and it is always so fun to open the boxes and see what has arrived.
On our webpage you can now go to the "New Items" tab and see what has recently arrived. New fabric includes "Pick-Up Sticks" in pre-cuts and yardage by Pam Schaefer for Andover, "A Splash of Color" batiks by Edyta Sitar for Andover. For notions and fun stuff we have sewing themed socks, bobbin towers, Sew Wanderful magnetic pin picker-uppers, little Sqizzors for snipping threads and other handy tools and notions. Also, "A Bee's Life" (bee themed fabric) and "Plummage" (peacock themed fabric) have arrived and will be in inventory soon. Check the website frequently to see our new arrivals as we have more fabric and sewing items coming throughout the summer!

Memorial Day- we will be closed on Monday, May 28th. We will be open on Saturday, May 26th (10 am - 4:30 pm) and reopen on Tuesday, May 29th. Have a safe Memorial Day holiday!

Lavender Festival- June 8-10
Blanco's annual Lavender Festival is scheduled for June 8-10 and vendors will be set up around the Historic Old Blanco Courthouse, in addition to shopping there will be music in the park, speakers and scheduled events. We have just finished our lavender-themed quilt. Kits are available and pictures will be posted soon. Check the festival website for the schedule: www.blancochamber.com/lavender-fest-information .

2nd Annual Ugly Fabric Quilt Contest
Some say that there is no such thing as "ugly" fabric, only fabric that hasn't been cut into small enough pieces yet! Whether or not the fabric for this year's contest is really "ugly" or not, it just hasn't wanted to leave the Textile Studio!! The "ugly" fabric for this year includes different panels, and you can select buy one and then cut it up, add fabric, and sew it back together into a quilt. It needs to be at least 40" x 40", quilted, bound, and finished by Sept. 29th. Shoppers during the Fall Frolic Shop Hop will be voting for their favorite "ugly" quilt. May Mug Rug of the Month- Monday, May 14, 1 pm - 4 pm
Make a birthday themed mug rug, perfect to give as a birthday gift along with a gift card to a favorite coffee shop! June's mug rug will be patriotic theme so you can get ready for the 4th of July!

Judy Niemeyer Sit and Sew-  Monday, May 21, 10 am - 4 pm
This is an all day opportunity to Sit and Sew with Jan Mathews, a certified Judy Niemeyer instructor. Bring an unfinished Judy Niemeyer project or one that you haven't even taken out of the bag yet, and Jan will provide assistance.



Ribbon Star Table Topper- to be offered on two different dates: Thursday, May 31 and Thursday, June 15, 1 pm - 4 pm
Learn how to "deconstruct" and then construct your own pattern to make the Ribbon Star Table Topper. The table topper can be made in various sizes once you have the formula.



Quilt as You Go Bargello Table Runner- Saturday, June 23
Learn the bargello technique and make a small table runner for your table.
