Intro to Quilting Workshop
A beginning level workshop for those new to quilting. Content is covered in 4 sessions and will take the participant from the very beginning of quilting to having a finished quilt. Participant must be able to attend all 4 sessions.
Workshop cost $95 and includes $25 towards fabric or sewing supplies purchased at the Textile Studio. Participants need to know how to use their sewing machines as this is not a sewing machine class. The workshop project is a small quilt (approx. 41" x 41") that can be used as a wall hanging, table topper or baby quilt. Participants will have work that needs to be done outside of the workshop setting.
For the first session, participants will need to bring:
- sewing machine in working order
- 100% cotton thread in a neutral color
If these supplies are already owned, participants should bring these also, otherwise it is recommended to wait to purchase until after the first session:
- rotary cutter
- seam ripper
- quilting pins
- cutting mat
- acrylic rulers: long (6" x 24") and square (6.5" x 6.5")
During the first session, fabric and required yardage for the project will be discussed.
