Quilting Basics: Let's Start at the Very Beginning



Topics to be discussed in this full day workshop will be how to properly use the tools of quilting (rotary cutter, acrylic ruler, cutting mat), how to sew an accurate 1/4" seam, and fabric selection. Practice cutting and sewing will be done while making several basic quilt blocks. Participants must be at least 16 years old and must have their own sewing machine (in good working condition.) This is not a basic sewing machine class, participants must know how to set up the sewing machine, fill a bobbin and thread the machine. A supply list will be provided after paid registration.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: For the person that has little to no previous quilting experience.
Requirements: Must be at least 16 years old. Must have own sewing machine sewing and know how to use it. Supply list provided after registration.
Instructor: Ruth Johnson
Instructor Bio: Ruth is the manager of Uptown Blanco Textile Studio and has been teaching beginners the essential of quilting for over 10 years.
